Nansenpasset

The National Library of Norway was established in 1989. Its principal is “to preserve the past for the future”. The institution collect, index and preserve for posterity Norwegian published knowledge and culture production in all media.

In 1921 began the work of what would become known as the Nansen Passport – the first international identity card for refugees. A hundred years later, the National Library of Norway shows the original Nansen passports and other documents in the exhibition “Nansenpasset”. For the exhibition, the color palette inspired by the Nansen-stamp, and decorated the walls in the original passports and documents.
